Setting up your child in FF Grows

FF Grows is your child's own money app. A child can't sign up for it alone: you create their account from your FF Life app, and you stay connected to it as their guardian. It takes about two minutes.

Before you start

Your child should be between 5 and 17. Grows adapts to their age. The screens, the words and the features change as they grow, so a six-year-old and a fourteen-year-old see very different apps.

You need an email address for them to sign in with. Nothing is ever emailed to your child; the address is only how they sign in. If they don't have one, use your own with a +name added: yours+dana@gmail.com still arrives in your inbox.

Step by step, in FF Life

1. Open Connections from the sidebar and go to the Family tab.
2. Press + Add to family and choose A kid for Grows.
3. Fill in your child's name, the sign-in email, a password (Suggest one makes a strong one for you), their date of birth, your role (parent or guardian) and the currency they'll use.
4. Press Create account.

The next screen shows the email and the password once. Write them down or hand them straight to your child: the password won't be shown again, and your child can change it after signing in.

Your child signs in

Your child opens FF Grows on a phone, tablet or computer and signs in with that email and password. From then on it's their space: they record what they get and what they spend, set goals, and learn with short lessons.

What you see from FF Life

Your child now appears on the Family tab. Press their card to open their page: their wallet, their savings, their goals and their recent activity. It's a view, not a remote control. The everyday money decisions stay theirs.

This page is also where you set up an allowance, answer their requests to save or borrow, and, if they forget their password, press Set a new password.

If your child invites you instead

A child who already has a Grows account can invite a parent from Grows, under Settings, My family. The invitation waits for you in FF Life on the Family tab, where you accept or decline it.
